Guitar Hero 4 jest kolejn± gr± muzyczn±, nale¿±c± do popularnej serii. Tym razem zabawa skupia siê nie tylko na gitarach, gdy¿ mo¿na wcieliæ siê tak¿e w basistê, perkusistê i wokalistê.
Wykorzystuje siê wiêc wiêksz± ilo¶æ kontrolerów, wzorowanych na prawdziwych instrumentach. Oprócz nowej wersji gitary elektrycznej i basowej mamy do dyspozycji tak¿e mikrofon oraz perkusjê. Ponadto twórcy postanowili wprowadziæ te¿ jeszcze jeden, ³atwiejszy poziom trudno¶ci (Easy Rhythm), z którym ¿adnego problemu nie powinni mieæ nawet najwiêksi laicy. Pewnym modyfikacjom uleg³ tryb kariery - teraz podró¿ujemy po ¶wiecie i odbywamy koncerty. W dodatku je¿eli po drodze okazuje siê, ¿e uprzednio wybrany stopieñ trudno¶ci jest zbyt wysoki, to mo¿na zmieniæ go bez potrzeby restartu ca³ej kariery. Karierê realizuje siê w pojedynkê lub wraz z maksymalnie trzema innymi osobami, z których ka¿da obejmuje inn± rolê w zespole. Bez zmian pozosta³y natomiast, znane z Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, walki z bossami.
Kolejn± z nowo¶ci jest mo¿liwo¶æ tworzenia w³asnych utworów (z wy³±czeniem ¶cie¿ki wokalnej) przy pomocy opcji Advanced Studio lub modyfikowania istniej±cych kawa³ków w trybie Jam Over, a nastêpnie udostêpnianie ich innym graczom poprzez serwis GH Tunes. Na pocz±tku mamy tam miejsce jedynie na piêæ utworów, jednak w zale¿no¶ci od przyznanych ocen przez spo³eczno¶æ istnieje mo¿liwo¶æ wzrostu ich liczby do dziesiêciu lub nawet wiêcej.
Istnieje te¿ opcja dowolnej ingerencji w charakterystyki cz³onków naszego zespo³u (pocz±wszy od wieku, a skoñczywszy na tatua¿ach i makija¿u). To samo tyczy siê równie¿ instrumentów.
Do dyspozycji graczy oddane zosta³y utwory takich zespo³ów jak Van Halen, Eagles, Linkin Park i Sublime. Przy tym wszystkie kawa³ki s± oryginalnymi wersjami, nie za¶ coverami.
